Star Anise Legal is pleased to have co-hosted its third event with the Employment Law team of DLA Piper at their office on 26 May 2016. As with previous events, our co-Managing Director, Annie Tang, introduced the topic and speakers. The speakers were Julia Gorham (Partner), Anita Lam (Of Counsel) and David Smail (Associate). Carolyn Bigg, Of Counsel, from the IP&T team of DLA Piper was also in attendance providing valuable live case studies from a technology perspective.

The topic of workplace monitoring was of keen interest for General Counsel attendees from multinational corporations since it was so highly relevant whether the attendees need to act in the best interests of their employer or in their capacity as line managers or employees themselves.

Annie was delighted with the topic, commenting, “We are delighted to have co-hosted a series of employment law roundtables/Q&As with DLA Piper’s esteemed employment law team and to have provided a value add to our General Counsel contacts."

"Since we all need to keep up with the technological advances and their impact on employers and employees, this session was of high relevance to the audience," Annie added.  "It also produced a very interactive discussion on what employers can and cannot lawfully monitor”.
