Legal Genie Podcast with Star Anise's co-founders

Wearing my external recruiter’s hat since 2010, it’s not often that I’m the one being interviewed! So it made a nice change to be wearing the hat of an interviewee in the form of a podcast with Big Law lawyer-turned-executive-coach, Lara Quie, in her podcast series, the Legal Genie Podcast. 

In this episode, I was joined by my sister and business partner, Annie Tang. We talk about growing up in England as part of the British Born Chinese community and how that has influenced our career choices, our experiences of training and working as qualified commercial lawyers (me in England with M&A, Annie in Hong Kong with litigation), transitioning to become business owners and some of the challenges we’ve faced, and a little about the legal recruiting industry itself, followed by some career tips for young lawyers.
