A festive time for giving: Star Anise supports Box of Hope

Christmas is almost upon us again, and the team at legal and compliance recruiters Star Anise have been busy creating boxes of gifts for the annual Box of Hope organisation. Recruiters and administrative staff alike at the Hong Kong-based recruitment firm took time out of their busy schedules to enthusiastically wrap the gifts that they had individually curated.  

Box of Hope is a non-profit Hong Kong organisation set up by two mothers in 2008 to teach their children the gift of giving, and encouraging others to donate education and fun gifts for children in need throughout Asia. 

Working with schools, children’s organisations and companies across Hong Kong, the movement has been increasingly popular since its inception, and has in recent years raised over 20,000 boxes of gifts to be donated to children-in-need across the Asia region.

Star Anise co-Managing Director, Annie Tang, said, “We are very pleased for Star Anise to participate in the Box of Hope initiative for the fifth year running. As a mother of two young children, this cause resonates with me strongly. It’s a fantastic idea to help people come together and bring joy to children across Asia who haven't experienced receiving a gift before. I would like to thank our colleagues for participating in this wonderful project.”

The concept is simple: purchase or make a collection of new gifts, wrap the outer shell of a shoe box with gift wrapping paper (but making sure the lid is not sealed), add a label on top, and donate to many of venues that are depositories for the Box of Hope gifts.
