Appeal for volunteers to support Project WeCan

Hong Kong SAR, August 5, 2024 – Supporting the legal industry in Asia since 2010, the Star Anise Group is proud to highlight its ongoing partnership with Hong Kong charity, Project WeCan, supporting Hong Kong Teachers' Association Lee Hing Kwei Secondary School in Taipo since 2022. This collaboration has provided senior-level secondary school students with invaluable opportunities to experience life in an office, learn about the recruitment industry and the legal profession, improve their English, develop communication skills, and participate in job interview workshops.
In early 2024, Star Anise Group further demonstrated its commitment by donating office furniture, including Steelcase office desks and chairs, to the school following an office move. This donation has significantly enhanced the learning environment for students, providing them with a more professional and comfortable setting to pursue their studies and career aspirations.
The staff at Star Anise have found immense personal reward and a sense of achievement through their involvement in this initiative. Consultant Allan Campbell shared, “Being part of this project throughout last year has been incredibly fulfilling. Seeing the students grow in confidence and skill is a testament to the positive impact we can make when we invest in our community’s future.”
Co-founder of Star Anise Group, Chris Tang, reaffirmed his commitment to Project WeCan, stating, “Despite our reduced staff numbers, our dedication to supporting the youth remains unwavering. We are calling on individual contributors to join us as volunteers to offer careers advice and spoken English online tuition throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. By committing just one hour per month each term, you can make a significant difference in these students’ lives.”
