Star Anise hosts a career webinar for legal professionals

After the success of our second webinar of the “Rebooting your Legal Career” series, Star Anise is pleased to host another webinar on the topic of “Rebooting and innovating: how to boost your legal career”. Our guest speakers will share insights from successful legal professionals in Hong Kong on how to strategically carve out your legal career.

The sharing, aimed at qualified lawyers of all levels who are seeking to elevate their legal and professional careers, will be delivered on 17 November 2020 (Tuesday) at 12:45 p.m. Hong Kong time (GMT +8). Experts from the legal field in Hong Kong will discuss how to successfully transition from private practice to an in-house legal team, or establish your own business if you are ambitious, and strategies to staying relevant in your legal career.

Our guest speakers are:

Kris Daswani is the Global Head of Legal, Transaction Banking at the Standard Chartered Bank. She is qualified in both Hong Kong and England and Wales, and has worked in major law firms and the in-house banking industry across the APAC region over her 25 years' career to date. Kris is also a member of the Standard Chartered’s Group Legal Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Henry Yu is qualified in both Hong Kong and England and Wales and obtained a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He is the principal partner of L&Y Law Office and Henry Yu and Associates. In the early part of his career, Henry worked with Kennedys and Freshfields before moving into a senior in-house legal position with ICBC international. In recent years, Henry has been recognised for his strong interest in the blockchain industry by various professional bodies. Moreover, he has been awarded the “China Commercial 2019 Outstanding Contribution Award” and represents the Bitcoin Community at the HKMA and the FTSB meetings.
