Star Anise hosts a webinar for lawyers wanting to enhance their online presence

Continuing our “Rebooting you Legal Career” webinar series, Star Anise is pleased to announce the final webinar of this year focusing on how to build your professional brand on social media, with a focus on LinkedIn. Our prestigious guests from the legal world will share insights on what makes a profile distinctive and how to leverage off your social media presence in your career and business.

The webinar, aimed at both aspiring and experienced lawyers as well as young professionals who are seeking to improve their professional social media presence will be delivered on 7 December 2020 (Monday) at 7 p.m., Hong Kong time and 11am GMT. In our first truly international webinar linking Hong Kong, London and Singapore, our co-Managing Director, Chris Tang will be hosting an evening with two stars of the legal industry's social media-world including future trainee Gordon Chung, and lawyer-turned-entrepreneur Lara Quie, to discuss what pitfalls they encountered and what factors contributed to their online marketing success.

A graduate of the University of Cambridge with a Masters of Corporate Law, Gordon Chung is a soon-to-be trainee at Baker McKenzie in London and the Founder of Global Lawyers Connect, a not-for-profit platform for aspiring lawyers to network globally and to encourage diversity and social mobility internationally in the legal world. Gordon is also a New York Attorney-at-law (pending admission) and in just under two years of being active on the platform, has accumulated over 20,000 followers on LinkedIn. He has also published 2 book chapters by Springer and over 6 articles in a range of peer-reviewed law journals in Europe and Asia collectively.

A graduate of the University of Oxford long before social media in its current form was invented, Lara Quie qualified as a corporate lawyer with an international law firm in London before becoming a serial entrepreneur and subsequently becoming head of business development & marketing at several top international law firms. Based in Singapore for the past 6 years, Lara is the founder of Lara Q Associates, a boutique executive coaching and business consultancy specialising in successful lawyers, leaders and founders. On LinkedIn, she has nearly 4,000 followers, to whom she is the “Legal Genie”, a trusted advisor, confidant, and mentor. Lara has a podcast called The Coach Potatoes Podcast where she and her fellow Potato discuss lots of different coaching topics and interview interesting leaders, entrepreneurs and coaches.
